Brooklyn Peltz Beckham Shares His Love of Family…and Cooking

As the son of two famous parents—legendary soccer player David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, also known as the iconic Posh Spice—Brooklyn Peltz Beckham grew up as a bit of a globetrotter. With all that world travel came an appreciation for tasting different cuisines, and eventually cooking, something he’s been exploring in recent years.
Twenty-six-year-old Peltz Beckham, who’s married to American actress Nicola Peltz (with whom he combined last names), recently teamed with pasta producer Barilla in celebration of the company’s relaunch of Al Bronzo pasta. Senti! (listen up!) pasta lovers who cut carbs: The Al Bronzo shapes are designed for sauce to cling to every bite, so there’s no bread necessary to mop up extras.
“My passion for Italian cuisine comes from my childhood,” Brooklyn told us. “Whether it was family vacations or watching my dad cook pasta at home, food was always at the heart of those moments of togetherness. And my love for food continues today as I cook Bolognese with my wife at home. That’s what’s so special about pasta, and what resonates so much to me about Barilla. It’s more than a meal—it’s a way to connect.”
He recently sat down with The Healthy by Reader’s Digest to talk more about how he’s held onto the importance of family time and food as an adult…as well as the key self-care routine he needs to feel normal.
The Healthy: Brooklyn, it’s so fun to talk with you. I was in high school when you were born! But what I love most about this campaign is that it’s important for us to have conversations about guys who are passionate about being in the kitchen. A passion for cooking knows no gender. We know from watching the Netflix docuseries about your family that your dad loves to cook. What sparked your love of preparing a meal?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: Yeah, growing up, I was lucky enough to live in some pretty cool places. I love trying new things, and I love trying new cuisine. My favorite thing is to be at home with the four dogs and my wife, opening up a bottle of wine and cooking.
The Healthy: What’s a typical weeknight dinner for you guys?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: We cook my favorite dish, spaghetti Bolognese—obviously using the Barilla Al Bronzo. I’m not really a fan of bread with pasta, so that’s why I use [it].
The Healthy: Many of us are trying to limit our carbs, so we get that! Are there any strategies or habits that you try to live by to eat healthy?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: I love doing the Italian diet, good pasta every night. That’s kind of what I do.
The Healthy: When you’re 26, you can get away with that.
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: (Laughs.)
The Healthy: We saw that you and your wife just recently celebrated your third anniversary. It seems like you really value family, and gathering extended family around to have meals together is important to you. Can you talk more about that?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: Yeah, definitely. Obviously growing up, me and my family, we’ve always had dinner together … and now we’re kind of carrying on that tradition.
The Healthy: What is one self-care habit you refuse to skip?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: I don’t know… I know I shower probably a lot more than other people.
The Healthy: We haven’t heard that one before!
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: I feel weird when I don’t shower, so that’s probably my number one.
The Healthy: Finally, what’s your favorite comfort food?
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham: My favorite go-to comfort food is obviously my spaghetti Bolognese. It just tastes good [and] it’s just the whole process of making it is just so fun. So that’s definitely my go-to.
